Schumer is an idiot. Is the barrel made of metal? If so a metal detector will go off. Schumer has been watching too much die hard. I'm waiting for him to try and pass laws to make CNC machines illegal.

The latest "plastic gun" iteration appears to have a plastic barrel...not sure if it will hold together under the stresses of firing. Sure thing the rifling isn't gonna last! Not that it makes much difference. Until someone can make plastic bullets (which, come to think of it, has been done), cartridge cases and primers, it's not an issue. Now, should't the multibillion dollars we have spent on 3D body scanners pick up on these anyway?
There have been some pretty functional plastic knives around for years. I have one called the 'frequent flyer' that was made by a company called 'Mad Dog Knives.' The company founder was a guy who supposedly did a lot of consulting to the CIA or some such thing. For being plastic, the knife is amazingly sharp and penetrative. These have been around for years, but never been used in a crime or to hijack an airplane, as far as I know.
Anyway, AFAIK, there are no fully non-metallic cartridges. The brass case is going to show up on the metal detector, and what good is a gun with no ammo?
