will you pay? I won't. I'm so tired of everyone's hands out grabbing money. It's bad enough the videos are cluttered with ads. Now they're thinking about charging. Not on my nickle.

Nope, I would become a paid member of a site that does their own investigative video's. Youtube does too much censoring anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing them take a fall.

You won't, but plenty of idiots will.

People are willing to pay $50 for water, go figure.

Sure. As long as it's reasonably priced and the ads are minimal, I don't mind paying for the service. YT isn't providing a charity service. I can respect that.

No. The billions of dollars they make off putting ads on other peoples work (most of which is terrible) is enough, I wouldn't pay for it.

YouTube Revenues Could Pass $3.6 Billion in 2012: Citi's Mark Mahaney - Peter Kafka - Media - AllThingsD

Clearly a huge profit can be made without charging a subscription fee, if Google starts charging someone else will step in and offer to host videos without a fee.

The best videos are copyrighted, so they are going to have to share the profits.

Most of the other youtube videos (busty girls showing cleavage, idiots ranting into a camera, kids doing stupid and boring stuff, animals doing stupid and boring stuff) aren't worth watching.

I watch a bunch of how-to videos. I installed a sprinkler system by watching how-to videos made by some random guy.
