Well, these are officers responsible for the strategic nuclear defense of this country. And Obama (like it or not) is the commander in chief of the US armed forces. So yes, much as he tries to avoid it, as president he actually has some real responsibilities. Unlike say a "community organizer".

I am sure that there are countless other threads on affirmative action that you could be rambling through.

What any of this nonsense has to do with the issue at hand totally escapes me.

These people were already officers, so qualified in some respect to have achieved their ranks. Perhaps they neglected to attend additional training, perhaps they felt that their positions gave them immunity from actually knowing this aspect of their jobs. Whatever the situation, it is between them and their employer and clearly they didn't make the cut.

There's a "Bifurcation of Power" now in the US military,
which could lead to Civil War.

Don't you read your own links?

The move comes on the heels of a military review that found several failings in the officers’ unit, the 91st Missile Wing at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, CBS reported. In March, inspectors gave the officers the grade of “D” on their mastery of Minuteman III missile launch operations.
I would think that even right-wing extremists would want officers who were qualified to do their jobs running nuclear missile launch operations. Ya think?
