You would think that if 559 pounds of explosives were stolen from the US Forest Service, that it would make the national news, but I have only seen it in the local media. You would also think that the feds could cough up more than a $5000 reward.

One more "you would think" - that they would know exactly when it was stolen. Quote from the article:

"The theft happened sometime in April....."

June, why don't you add $5000 to the reward?

Or just go out and saw down some trees for them.

Really? 600 pounds of explosives are stolen from a federal government storage facility, it doesn't make the national news, they offer a $5000 reward, there has been no follow-up news since the breaking of the story, and that's your response?

Either an inside job or they're lousy at securing explosives......kind of strange this story didn't make more news, yet they're digging into the background of Charles Ramsey.

Why does the Forest Service have this much explosive substance? Why aren't people being fired and held to task?

Imagine if this was a demolition company or private citizen.

If you read the linked article you might have seen ... this:

Quote:
The Forest Services uses explosives to help with clearing rock slides, trail construction and restoration, culvert removal and carcass disposal when public safety could conflict with bear activity, said Mariah Leuschen, a spokeswoman for the Custer and Gallatin national forests.
