Why shouldn't they? The government doesn't want to treat them equally, why shouldn't they take advantage of every loophole there.

I have spent thousands of dollars on legal paperwork to try to have SOME of the protections that a $60 marriage certificate would provide. It doesn't cover anywhere near what a marriage license does, but it is the best that I can do.

Now it is 'you didn't raise that child" ..the village did it..specifically the village idiot.

The schools are the social justice portal of the government.

The further we get away from this the harder it will be to actually define.

"Person 1 with legal and financial obligation to the child"
"Person 2 with legal and financial obligation to the child"

Then we can just add more people as society's views change.

Um..divorce maybe. That father is still the legal and biological father.
