The same thing happened in Ohio like we famously saw in those ads where Willard was shutting down factories, ruining countless lives and wrecking the income of cities.

The GOP love's to see places like Detroit and want the whole nation to look like that. The working man can go to hell, all that matters are the filthy rich.
Wow! Brainwashed and in denial of all facts!

Lol.....what what do you consider yourself with your denial of who's been in charge of Detroit for 50 years and your lie about US automakers shipping jobs to China?

One of the colossal mistakes made was to rescue Chrysler the first time - Congress and Jimmy Carter. They should have let Chrysler go down. The automakers would have learned they cannot afford to make bad cars that cost too much.
Wait till people learn what "going green" means. That term is incongruous with a consumption based economy.

Nice fairy tale. Out of what orifice did you conjur this?

The Democrats have been in charge of Detroit since the late 1950s. The destruction of Detroit sits squarely on their shoulders.

Nonsense. I will not defend the corrupt governance as it is of record. But that has little to do with the problem.

The most interesting question is whether Michigan can sock it to the retirees...who are mostly not black and I suspect do not live in Detroit. They are nominated to be the big losers if the Governor gets his way.

Then whether Michigan will actually establish a viable financial setup in Detroit. Doubtful in my mind. Michigan does not particularly care for Detroit and would not mind it turning into a permanent black slum.. Wait thirty years than bulldoze most of the place.

Abolish the property tax and have a 3 percent sales tax.
Constitutional carry and stand your ground law enatcted.
How exactly would that fix anything? No property taxes and a 3% sales tax would create less money for the city, thus hurt the city more. And the gun part has nothing to do with the economy of Detroit.

Looks like all the Detroit threads were merged, so much for keeping track of anything going on in this topic.

easy as a tax haven business and entrepreneurs will flood in.
The gun part has alot to do with it, why would you open a business/live in a high crime area and not have the ability to defend yourself as you see fit?
