Oh please, most of the country cant take taxis either. It would cost me $50 to take one around here, and another $50 to get home..

I suppose I could hire a "jitney" but that wouldnt generate tax revenues and you know we wouldnt want to do things illegally, would we?

Seriously? You think people are going to take a bus to go out to dinner and have a bottle of wine? Not all cities have decent mass transit. For me to take a cab downtown and back home for an evening would run me close to $200.00. Not going to happen. I certainly don't endorse drunk driving but this measure is taking things too far. Why not focus on all the distracted drivers on their phones and texting rather than ruin someone's life for having two drinks with dinner.

Then you need a dedicated driver. Why do you insist that you should be allowed to drive drunk?

I simply pointed out that ti would cost $50 in response to your imaginary claim that everyone in the country could take a taxi

The thread is about lowering the BAC, not about what type of transporation is available to those who exceed it

Please folks, just enjoy a dry meal, have a designated driver or just stay home and get hammered. In any case stay away from driving impaired. Driving impaired gets people injured or killed. Sometimes including the drinker.
