Bought time. Middle class white families have been watching their children's futures eroding to make way for more immigrants and "diversity". Bought time they get a chance at the prosperity pie
Fair is fair.
I think you mean "about" time. I'm from a middle class "white" family. Mixed blood European and Native. I don't have too much sympathy for this argument from white middle class people because they (and many of my ancestors included) are also immigrants. If it was right for your family to come here, then don't get on a pedestal and tell other people not to come because it's victimizing you. If you don't like it, then why not take a boat right back to Europe and try your luck there! The economy sucks for everyone. I'm sure you will fare much better if you stop worrying that other people are getting ahead at your expense and focus on doing what you need to get ahead. Prosperity pie? Sounds pretty self-entitled.

If you can chop me up into FOUR PARTS, I'd go back, so that's not really gonna work. Even then, Europe too is being invaded by an alien culture not unlike the one in America.
However, merit should still be the top most deciding factor (within the guidelines of the scholarship criteria, of course). A white person who gains admittance into Harvard is more deserving than a white person who gains admittance into SUNY.
That is debatable.
What one does with their educational opportunities and degree is what matters.
Besides - plenty of mediocre and inept people have graduated from Harvard.
Please point me in the direction of "advantages". It isn't laziness if you look and look and don't find anything. I paid for college and I did receive a few scholarships. I have no entitlement attitude, except that which I WORK very hard for.
I'm just tired of minorities going "boo hoo, i'm a minority and it isn't fair." I think if more minorities got off their lazy back sides and actually did some good for themselves and their community they would achieve more out of life than your supposed small pie crumbs.
With all the opportunities for minorities to go to college, it is they who are the lazy ones for not even taking advantage of it.
Maybe you feel like life has dealt you a raw deal.
Thank you i respect your opinion. When my son graduated with scholarships his friends who were also black and HIGHLY intelligent also got scholarships. For those deserving of this great merit they deserve it.
I am tired of anyone going "boo hoo" when they want something period, without working for it, and i don't care what damn race you are.
I don't see anything wrong with scholarships for blacks, or white or whatever race you are, if these scholarships are granted by merit.
Heading the Harvard Law Review isn't exactly "prestigious".
Have you ever read the junk that is printed in that waste of a few perfectly good trees?
I'd put money on the fact that you'd never heard of Harvard until you heard Obama went there.
