It has become all too obvious especially with this regime in the White House now that it is time to get the government out of most aspects of our lives. They have taken over healthcare and are currently destroying it and making it completely unaffordable for almost everyone, they have taken over educational loans and have profited from that and also driven up the costs of higher learning. They have wrecked the economy by sticking their noses into Wall Street, the housing market (Fanne & Freddie) and the auto industry. Now the IRS is over-stepping its bounds and looks to up the ante.

How can we go about getting the government and it's waste, fraud and corruption out of our every day lives and hopefully return it to representing the people?

They haven't made costs of higher learning go up. They were already well out of control before Obama took office.

And I'm glad there are programs to help students with loans...I'm afraid the GOP would make those programs disappear.

We can start to electing career criminals out of office and probably publicly address certain issues. Unfortunately most Americans, but mainly females and liberals, see the government as the only way to handle things.

Anyone who thinks the "Government" has taken OVER healthcare has no clue and no credibility. The Government has done nothing but kowtow to, and do the bidding of the healthcare industry, making it a requirement to HAVE healthcare, not CONTROL healthcare.

All they've done is make it easier for the healthcare industry, banking industry, regulatory industry aka....conservative donors & RWNJ's to control and fleece America.

Have you read the law or are you just speculating?

It was obvious in 1787. That's why the Framers wrote the Constitution the way they did. It says the Federal govt has NO powers except the ones they named explicitly in that document. And then they added the Bill of Rights that spelled out "the most important" bans on government intrusion, and wound up with a general ban that said ALL powers not listed, were reserved to the states or the people. Meaning, they were forbidden to the Fed.

It's been obvious for quite a few regimes now (this latest being the worst, as you said) that the govt has little interest in obeying the Constitution. They regard it more as an obstacle, than a framework to build government around. And they seem to feel that, if they can violate it and get away with it, then they've got nothing to worry about. So they violate it more and more.

When making laws doesn't do the job of restricting them as they should be.... it would behoove them to consider carefully what alternatives they are leaving for the people to control them, and whether they really want the people to be left with only those alternatives.

Jefferson foresaw this problem, and could come up with no easy solution. He had a saying about it, that mentioned refreshing the Tree of Liberty. And he wrote something about it into the very law that created the present nation:

...when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government...

Yep, old TJ said flatly that when a government abuses its people too badly, they have a DUTY to overthrow that government... and it is legal to do so.

And all the states agreed, and ratified it. And it remains law to this day, as binding on us as any other Federal law.

Government interference in the availability of money for college HAS driven up the cost of education. Anyone with even a hint of economic sense knows this to be a fact.

Everything the government interferes with, which should be left to the free market to regulate, ends up costing more. There are NO exceptions.
