Many people do it.
The laws were put in place to protect children from being preyed upon by adults.

They had recorded a phone conversation between the 2 girls talking about kissing in the high school bathroom.

If this was a male and a female there would be no story. In fact, if I understand correctly an 18 year old male and 15 year old girl could legally get married in Florida.
No, you are wrong. The girls were 18 and 14 when the relationship started. Kaitlyn's 18th birthday was in Aug. and they started "dating" in Nov. with the molestation occurring in late Dec. This is outside of the limits of the Romeo and Juliet law, hence the prosecution.

Kaitlyn's parents or the media are attempting to mislead the public.

There seems to be a lot of misinformation floating around.

This is what her father wrote:

My Daughter Was Arrested, Expelled and Charged With a Felony for a Same-Sex Relationship She Had as a Minor

It apparently wasn't outside the Romeo and Juliet law and has nothing to do with the 'prosecution'. It only has to do with whether she would be put on the registered sex offender list.

Florida’s “Romeo and Juliet” Petition Process under s.943.04354, F.S.
Section 943.04354, F.S., provides a process allowing amotion7 or petition8 for removal of the requirement to register as a sexualoffender or sexual predator for qualifying “Romeo and Juliet” offenders whomeet specific criteria outlined in the statute. Most notably, the victim mustbe at least 14 years-old,9 the offender no more than 4 years older than thevictim at the time of the offense, and the victim must have consented10 to thesexual conduct.

I have an issue with classifying an 18 year old male or female as a sex offender for this type of crime. Also to the poster who said they were kissing in the bathroom it had to go beyond that. There had to be penetration.

This isn't pedophilia.

Those victims are much younger than the teen years.

If anything, this would be a case of ephebophilia.

Intellectual honesty matters.

if the 18 year old in this equation were male, liberals would have the exact opposite opinion. but sense it is a gay person, they feel that need to defend the illegal actions.
