New York Times - Another Chilling Leak Investigation: The Obama administration has moved beyond protecting government secrets to threatening fundamental freedoms of the press.

Obama administration officials often talk about the balance between protecting secrets and protecting the constitutional rights of a free press. Accusing a reporter of being a “co-conspirator,” on top of other zealous and secretive investigations, shows a heavy tilt toward secrecy and insufficient concern about a free press.

Let us hope that republicans support "Media Shield Act" instead of opposing it again, a first step. But since the President supports it, I suspect, just enough of the usual idiots will oppose it, again.

Default Obama administration has moved beyond protecting government secrets to threatening fundamental freedoms of the press

Isn't this the "liberal media" they've been monitoring?

You know, the biased media that conservos are always crowing and whining over endlessly?

What happened to that cozy relationship between Obama and the media?

Now RWNJs are taking their side.

Strange bedfellows, indeed.

Or, as some idiots, who have now flipped momentarily, suggested... "the White House hasn’t taken national security leaks seriously enough".

Who would have thought we would see the NYTimes defending Fox News? When you see that you know things are not going well for the administration here.

This one is tricky. The Justice Department investigation wasn't to stop freedom of speech or freedom of the press--they were investigating a CRIME that threatened national security. What do you do when a member of the press commits a crime in the course of their reporting? Are they above the law? Lots of things to think about.
