Just wondering how many of you support it. I support it, and reading this article reinforces my beliefs.

Man to Die for Girl's Alligator Death - AOL News

Edit-Eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind is a crap analogy considering the person who puts the man to death won't be put to death.

I will never trust any government enough to give it the authority to execute its own citizens, for any reason.

I think it should be reserved for 1st degree murder or cases where the crime is clearly shown to be without a doubt cruel and deliberate in its actions.

The death penalty should be for these type of crimes!
In fact any crime that involves murder, pedophilia, etc where there is no shadow of a doubt that they did it. Absolutely! Our jails would thin quite a bit and it would send a message to others as well.
I also feel that people like some of these serial killers, Manson, and the like that are on death row should be executed.

I am against government sponsored kilings, period. Life in prison without parole is sufficient IMO.

It's not about playing God it is about choices. If someone chooses to commit crimes of heinous nature than they have chosen to be executed.

I've gone back and forth on this issue, but right now I am against it for a couple of reasons.

1. The possibility of executing an innocent person.

2. As Glitch stated, I am not sure that I trust the government with that power.

But if we do have the death penalty then I think we should have public executions. If we are willing to do it then I believe that we should be open about it and do it in front of God and everybody.
