Women have been part of the US military for decades, usually in non-combat jobs. In recent times they are also in combat positions. The eligible draft age is from 18 to 26. With all the grandiose plans for expanding American wars, a draft may be necessary, soon.
Do you think that women should be included in the draft.

I hate to say this:

Mandating a draft for women if there is any chance of them being sent anywhere near the 'front lines'-------no way.

Why I say that is if a bunch of us guys get KIA; at least there would be a potential pool of females to replenish the population.

Politically incorrect but harsh reality.

Any draft should include women, but it won't.

I would agree with women being in the draft because there's many important jobs that women do in the military.

But I have to agree with Arizonabear, I don't think women should be sent to the front lines, I'm not being a sexist here it's just that I've been there and know what it's like. Women play a big role in our military today.

Yes, women should be included in the draft. We've whined and complained for years to have equal rights, etc. We need to step up and take our place in line......(and I'm a mother with 2 daughters...)

Women should not be sent to the front lines, but there are a million different jobs in the military. Okay, not a million, but quite a few anyway.

Agreed!

Women have been more or less fully integrated in other countries like Israel (where they are drafted, too) and haven't caused problems. For that matter gays have served openly and without problems in other countries, too.

Any war where there is a chance of killing enough men to effect the population tables is a war that we will need every available pair of hands on a rifle!

Other than that, the usual arguments of showers and a woman's monthly cycle is in my opinion a pretty weak argument. Asking men to kill other men is OK, but asking a lady to go a few days without a shower or change her sanitary products in the field is somehow crossing a line?

Absolutely not. They should serve voluntarily.

Yes, You are woman, hear you roar and all that jazz...but you dont wear a dimond encrusted watch to play football-its too precious and valuable. By the same token, our women are too precious and valuable to put in harms way.

This is perhaps one of the only times when male chauvinism is perfectly appropriate.

Hillary 2008 btw.
