Places like MacD and BK must surely have had their day in the sun I reckon, I mean I only ever visit those places to have a free ****, and no, I don't mean grabbing a burger whilst the cashier in not looking, lol
Would the USA grind to a halt? What about a month? Bet that would throw a wrench in the system.
I'd go to the local deli in my grocery store, or the local gas station and get a sub, sandwich or whatever. And if those were closed, I'd go to a sit down restaurant, or bag my own lunch.
So what, they can find other work or start something else up.
Yes, that's right, there are so many jobs available, they can't find enough people to fill them? You truly haven't a clue do you?

Well, obviously they cannot, otherwise they would do so.
They haven't tried, probably because most monkey's have a hard time remembering to ask, "Would you like fries with that burger?".

So explain again how working at MacDs is not the 'real world' - do you mean it's like some kind of dream sequence or something?
Real world meaning, a lot of things. Constant learning and improving your skillset so that you can earn more. Being able to work at a place that has salaries and benefits that allow you to raise a family. the comment about moving up to the real world, deals with a time in your life where what you do has MAJOR consequences. When you are 16 working for macdonalds, making a mistake doesn't normally have the same impact as when you are 35, supporting a family, and your decisions and or mistakes impact more than just yourself.
When I was 16, a job meant spending money, it wasn't a matter of survival.
Many of those employees will be history in the near future anyways. FF joints are already test running self serve kiosks.
You can order, and pay for your food like substance without ever talking to a person.
FF employees have zero leverage for a "strike". Virtualy anyone can replace them with minimal instruction, and many would be glad to have the work. It is unskilled labor. Even if a guy with a PhD in Astro-Physics is working there, the work he is doing is un-skilled labor and will pay accordingly.
