conservatives don't love America. conservatives love a fantasy version of America that has never existed.

America as it actually exists, its institutions, its people, its largest cities, and most of its largest states conservatives hate those things.

One can subjectively read conservatives discuss America and they will profess hatred, for New York, Chicago, LA, Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, California, New York State, Illinois, New Jersey, Massachusetts, the media, hollywood, public schools, public universities, public employees, etc.

This doesn't even get into the various groups of Americans that conservatives regularly attack as being lazy, immoral, criminal, parasites, expecting hand outs and free stuff. In their opinion that describes half the nation right there.

The murder rate in Chicago is twice that of Houston.

Learn to read, it's not as bad as the fundamentalists claim it is. Jesus would approve
What do Jesus and "fundamentalists" have to do with this? Your bigotry is showing.

Like I said, property crime rates are not as "exciting" a topic. If it were, there would be threads about Austin's crime rate.

Here is the Census bureau's table on state crime rate statistics.

The "red states" definitely have higher crime rates; even with all those good guys with a gun there!

Oh, I'm sorry.

Guess what -- a similar scenario happened a decade ago with Houston/Texas, when Bush was president.
It wasn't limited to just politics forums either, but also so-called news and even Hollywood folks bashing Texas. And apparently OP is still on that. Rather hypocritical, I'd say.

Someone said that the crime in Houston is a result of people from New Orleans, so the crime rates don't matter.

Me disliking Texas has nothing to do with Bush. The Bush family is actually from the east coast, blue bloods
