I'm leaning towards you're badly uninformed. The war on drugs was actually started under Democratic Pres. Woodrow Wilson. It was a progressive initiative.

In the 1960's, with increasing drug use, under JFK there was the Prettyman commission. which called for more restrictions on drugs, and LBJ followed up with the Katzenbach commission.

Pres. Nixon in 1973 created the federal Drug Enforcement Agency.

All of this happened long before Reagan came on the scene. So to put the onus all on Reagan is either ignorant or disingenuous. Which is it?
