I'm leaning towards Reagan's war on drugs, just say no isn't working

Ok, I'll bite and be first.

Obama continuance of the war in the middle east and expanding it.

"Those who fail to remember history are doomed to repeat it"

58,000 American lives were lost in Vietnam for nothing.

When are we going to learn that we can't be the worlds police.

Isn't it interesting how the lefties are trying to distract from the absolute disaster of the scandal-ridden, recession plagued, and prestige lowering Obama administration by pretending that he isn't in office now and that Bush and Reagan are?

Liberals live in a fantasy land - they are incapable of dealing with reality.

Nothing?!

It strengthened the entire Military Industrial Complex and provided civilian and military jobs.

At least 58,000 people died of work related injuries performing on civilian.

Appeasement in the 1930s ended with upto 70 million dead. Without the US being the world's police things will get very ugly again. However, public attitudes are changing and with our finances the way the are it does look like the US's is changing its stance away from its previous role.

They are both not only catastrophic wastes of money, but counter-productive.

The War on Drugs ensures that people with legitimate pain problems--particularly those at the end of their lives--are drastically under-medicated and often have their pain meds stolen entirely while they writhe in agony for 8 long hours (my Dad, for instance). The War on Iraq incited terrorism and will put Americans at risk long into the future.

In terms of total damage done to America, the War on Drugs wins.

The only way Washington WON'T continue to spend our money on things that destroy our quality of life, is if it is DRASTICALLY cut back to be the small and powerless centralized government that the Founding Fathers knew was REQUIRED for freedom to exist.

Default What is a bigger failure, Reagan's war on drugs or Bush's war on Iraq?

Hard to say, really.

But the "war on drugs" is a war on ourselves, so that one might have a slight lead in the race to the bottom.

I'm going with The War on Poverty as the biggest failure. It's been around a very long time and more people get government handouts than ever before.
