she never said one doesn't inherit the traits of your parents, she said race is a social construct. race is a social construct based on regional features.

But it's interesting that you would assume that the baby is adopted, just because he "appears" to be white, and clearly she would be identified as black.
do you know if the father is also black? I am curious. It is possible for him to look like the father.

exactly. thousands of years breeding with people who look similar. that's like going to an isolated European village where everyone has big Triple H noses and saying they are a different race because they have big noses.

The father is white. The baby didn't just mystically pop out that way with 2 black parents as OP was trying to suggest. The baby has West African facial features and will most likely look more black as time goes on.

I know it goes against the egalitarian message liberals love to preach, so that is why they pretend not to notice racial differences beyond skin color, yet they have no issues with discussing the immense variation of physical/mental/emotional traits and abilities within the same species of organisms other than humans. You never hear this crowd claiming animal traits and names we give them to categorize them are 'social constructs'. In that respect isn't everything we name or categorize a 'social construct'? That doesn't dismiss the fact we are giving a name to a set of genetic traits unique to that certain race or ethnic group.

East and West Africans really have little in common, yet Pres. Obama is labeled "our first black president." Why? Because he shares the same skin color. Along the same lines, Marco Rubio is of Spanish (European) descent, yet if he were elected he would be labeled the first "Hispanic President." It's all a fiction, a fraud, and a fairy tale.
I don't agree with the Africa analogy. many Kenyans look no different from many west Africans. it's not just skin color, there are similar features as well. there are, in fact, various ethnic groups throughout east Africa who look like west Africans.

this division of Africa by east and west, north and sub Saharan are there to specifically discredit people of west African descent.

Or is it because we fear others, based on what we have been taught?

In the below video, an African American woman has given birth to a white baby (by appearances). If race was truly real, this wouldn't be possible.

How can we move past viewing people as different, just because they may not share the same skin color.
The following is the scientific classification for humans.

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Mammalia
Order: Primates
Family: Hominidae
Tribe: Hominini
Genus: Homo
Species: H. sapiens

There is no such thing as race, we are all the same species.

"Recent scientific evidence suggests that the idea of race is a biological myth, as outdated as the widely held medieval belief that the sun revolved around the earth. Anthropologists, biologists and geneticists have increasingly found that, biologically speaking; there is no such thing as "race." Modern science is decoding the genetic puzzle of DNA and human variation - and finding that skin color really is only skin deep."

also, Marco Rubio is Hispanic, a descendant of Spanish people living in latin America.

So, you cannot physically differentiate a Sub-Saharan male and a Northern European Male standing next to each other, or a Japanese male standing next to an Australian Aboriginal? There are no differences to you? Sure. Race does exist. The same professors who publish that rubbish that there are no racial differences are the first to scream discrimination (based on race) or champion for more Affirmative Action applicants to be accepted. What's next? We decide there are no genders, and that males and females have no genetic differences? You bet that's coming, it's already happening in "gender-neutral" Sweden. All of this movement is based on the premise that racial differences are deemed offensive and intolerable and therefore must be denied.

And all the white males denied positions in favor of blacks can start suing.....now.
when people stop discriminating against other people with different features like dark skin.

these people are Asian. genetically, they are closer related to Japanese people than west Africans. in any particular area most of the population will look the same way because they have been marrying each
other for years, but there are always exceptions. countries are man made. the human race is not.
