I make 16 bucks an hour. Saving is impossible, and I am a frugal person. And this amount of money is about the best that a college graduate can expect these days. I consider myself lucky because I at least found a job. After graduating I was unemployed for a year.
Do some research and get a marketable skill...I don't know about the US but the baby boomers are retiring in droves here in Canada and leaving a lot of job openings in the trades, like refrigeration, electrical etc. For instance the average electrician's income is just under $54,000 in Canada and $ 46,000 in the US, but many make much more than that.
Do your own yard work
Ditch cable and get some rabbit ears
Eat out once a month
Eat less we are a nation of fatties
Eat cheaper cuts and brands
Live close to your job and walk/bike/bus
Drive old cars that you change the oil and other fluids on.
Shop at second hand stores.
shop clearance and buy for winter in summer etc....
Dont turn on AC until it hits 80+ in the house
Dont turn on heater until it hits 60 or below in the house.
If its yellow let it mellow, if its brow flush it down
Get rid of grass- the kind you mow
Quit smoking, drinking, drinking, whoring and other expensive habit/vices
Blah blah blah....
I agree.... those who complain sometimes have vices that they are too weak to resist like porno gambling, drugs and hoes
Budgeting is very a good common sense ay to deal with money provided there are no unforeseen expenses like medical bills or huge car or home repairs

I want to move my career into the provider relations area. That is why I am currently pursuing a medical coding certification. Electrical work is not for me. lol.
