Then I hear it wasn't an "assault weapon", but a Saiga shotgun that looks kind of like one.

Then it was two "assault weapons".

What WAS it?
It was enough firepower to kill a bunch of people...Need more?

You and your ilk lambast the "lefties" for using dead kids to further their anti-gun cause, yet you and others like you have absolutely no qualms about spouting the word "conspiracy" because they won't publish the pictures of dead children.

This just goes to show how low the extreme right winger knee jerks will go.

"Occasional harrowing massacres are the price we pay" for allowing DERANGED NUT CASES LIKE THIS SICK KID running around lose because Insane Asylums are too much government and too expensive. The gun(s) were not the problem the CRAZED KID was the problem along with the absurdity of a GUN FREE ZONE" as if crazed people even bother to read signs.

So long as you have humans around you have the possibility of great violence. That is a fact. The question is how society reduces the threat. Banning weapons is NOT a viable answer because there are plenty of humans that can kill with a club or ax just as well as with guns.

OP – withholding these materials from public view is entirely justifiable to prevent further pain to the parents. If there was a trial the evidence would have to be presented but as the CRAZED KILLER did us the favor of killing himself thus negating any trial, publication of these pictures would just be cruel and is not needed.

Well said. The capacity for humans to inflict great harm on other humans is well documented throughout our history.
The Young man in question was shielded and possibly facilitated by his own mother yet another of his victims. When you know you have a disturbed person in your home you take the extra steps.
My daughter is autistic and has not 1 lick of interest in my firearms. I still have a gun safe, trigger locks and have never allowed her to touch a weapon.
I do this for her own safety. You never know when her curiosity might get the best of her.
This young man with all his issues was allowed free reign in a home with weapons. She was considering having him committed, such was her level of concern. The mother failed herself and her child.
The evidence being kept hidden. No one needs to know that little johnny was shot 5 times including 2 to the face. That changes nothing and need not be aired to the world.
