The biggest reason is, WE are not a socialist country, yet. When the government owns the companies (their working on it) then you ask for 6 months paid vacation, a 3 day work week @ 700.00 a week, 15 paid holidays a year, then we can go the way of the Greece economy and others.
Um, Europe isn't socialist either, then... They've been privatizing many companies, and in many ways are more private than we are - toll roads, airport security, public transit, many of these things are private in Europe, unlike here.
Greece's economy didn't flame out because of too many paid holidays, sorry bro.
Wow, do you want the USAtard to become even less competitive???? See even more jobs go
bye-bye to other countries???
You mean like Germany, with it's very strong export based economy?
A couple extra days off won't kill our productivity - in fact, Americans are some of the least productive workers on an hourly basis - know why? Because the more you work, the less productive you become.

How many vacation days do you give your employees?
Why is it that the United States government do not mandate 4-6 week paid vacation and long maternity/paternity leave like Europe and other western nations? It is very sad that large corporates have brainwashed the government and take over America
It took me three semesters of labor law, policial economy and labor history to understand the answer to your question... Good luck finding someone willing to actual take the time to layout the complex history of the labor movement from the International Cordwainers, the revolutions that swept Europe in 1848 to the post war reconstruction of Europe.

I give myself as much vacation as I want.
