Ah, I think I see what you're saying. You're saying the 2nd restricted the Fed Gov from infringing on second amendment rights, but not the states..... gotcha....
I'm sorry. The fact that some countries have gun control legislation proves what, exactly? Didn't you state categorically that gun control leads to gun bans? I don't see any bans there, just tight restrictions. So your argument fails.
And in the UK and Australia, those restrictions were made with popular support after horrific gun massacres ... unlike the US, where we just yawn, note that it's another day in gun-fetish-land, and lobby for more guns.
Red flags before Santa Monica shooting, but pointing fingers is hard
John Zawahri, the alleged shooter in Santa Monica, Calif., was said to be deeply interested in assault weapons and apparently had a difficult home life. But it can be complicated to take steps when signs like these surface.

Emerging details about the troubled past of the alleged shooter in Santa Monica, Calif., are reopening discussions about the identification of red flags – and the issues involved in responding to them.
John Zawahri is accused of fatally shooting five people last Friday and was killed by police. In high school, he was deeply interested in assault weapons, which in 2006 led school officials to report him to police, says Sandra Lyon, superintendent of the Santa Monica-

100 rounds and only six deaths? Thank god for poor shots I guess.....
Why is a big deal always made over the amount of rounds fired by the shooter? Why is it always a big deal how many rounds they have stock piled at their house?

Of what significance is it?
One other question, why is it they never make a big deal about how many rounds the P.D. shoots off, usually only hitting the suspect once or twice if at all?

I guess its only news if they tell us it is.
Mass shootings are no longer news in the United Gun States of America. They are just a common everyday occurrence, and thats the way the NRA wants it. They want people to become used to gun violence. They want people to be numb to it. That way people will just accept the gun violence as a fact of life and the gunnuts can continue on with their gun culture, unmolested.

Maybe that the shooter had been planning to take out more people? That stockpiling all of that ammunition meant that the killings might have been premeditated? That maybe there was something we could have done to prevent another mass shooting from happening?

There is. We can start the discussion about how we deal with people with mental health issues.
