You really think the people who pay income taxes are the same people who collect welfare benefits?

If someone is high functioning, how could they be disabled. That doesn't make sense.

I know --- but a large number of people getting disability handouts have arms and legs, can see at least when wearing glasses and have IQs over 65.

My son who was said to have ADHD graduated from college toward the top of his class and immediately found a job he likes. I don't view ADHD as a disability.

Yes -- because in addition there are housing vouchers, food stamps, Obamaphone, Medicaid, utility assistance. Add it all up -- it comes out to be a lot.

Now if you work for a living, you have to pay your own housing, buy your own food, pay for your electricity, cell phone, and even have to buy your own health insurance with a high deductible and copays.

Ray Charles was blind and had a job making more money in one year than you'll make in your lifetime, I guess blindness isn't a disability.

You have no idea what disability is.

Over $60,000 in Welfare Spent Per Household in Poverty | The Weekly Standard

the United States spent over $60,000 to support welfare programs per each household that is in poverty. The calculations are based on data from the Census, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Congressional Research Services.

"According to the Census’s American Community Survey, the number of households with incomes below the poverty line in 2011 was 16,807,795," the Senate Budget Committee notes. "If you divide total federal and state spending by the number of households with incomes below the poverty line, the average spending per household in poverty was $61,194 in 2011."

Okay - remove blindness from the list of real disability.

People are better off if they're working and productive. Laying around doing nothing doesn't help many of the conditions that now are considered disabilities.

A blog from a right wing rag. What's next, a blog about Obama being a gay illegal immigrant from Kenya?

You really expect mentally ill people to hold down full time jobs?

Yes, it would do them some good actually. There are a lot of jobs that mentally ill can do. A lot of people where I work are mentally ill, I do prefer it when they aren't my boss however.

Again, how does laying around doing nothing all day benefit them? Especially when they keep adding so many new kinds of mental illness to the list.
