For some strange reason Bloomberg has yet to relinguish the weapons that keep him protected. Wonder why?

You mean like what will soon happen in NY? Why don't you get your facts straight before you make such statements.

That's EXACTLY what CA and many states are doing by passing restrictive laws that choke down the rights of it's law abiding citizens.

Have you not read some of the new laws ?

So to answer your question... Monthly if not daily.

Why are the only options a nanny state or anarchy? If guns are the issue, shouldn't every gun show end in a blood bath? Going to a gun range is risking your life? In fact, some of the calmest people in the nation attend these events and participate in the shooting sports.

New Orleans during Katrina is the largest .gov confiscation. The other examples I can provide will be individual stories.

Gun toting anarchy is what you will have when you disarm law abiding Americans and the thugs and criminals are the only ones with guns. Guns were confiscated from non-criminals in New Orleans right after hurricane Katrina.

Isn't this whole thing about requiring background checks?

Did anybody get informed at all, or they just saw the title and felt they needed to provide their already biased opinion?

Background checks are already required if you buy a firearm from a gun store or dealer. A private transaction between citizens does not require background checks because there is currently no way to enforce it.

all gun control/restrictions does is give the crooks and gangs a bigger advantage over the common folk

There are many questions connected with the background checks, though. First of all, most of the mass shootings are done with guns acquired with background check. In Sandy Hook, for example, the guns were purchased by the mother who duly passed the background check. The son killed her and took her guns.

So more background checks are not a solution to the problem. That raises the obvious question: why are we spending so much time on them, and why is Bloomberg spending so much money on them?

Secondly if you listen to the audio link I posted, you would see that the devil is in the details when it comes to the checks. The legislation is being written by Bloomberg's people. There are concerns that this will be a replay of the Lautenberg Amendment, where people lost their right to buy a gun because they got into a fight with their brother as a teenager. That becomes 'domestic violence' and they lose their 2nd amendment right. A lot of cops lost their jobs under Lautenberg because they became legally disqualified from gun ownership.
