It suits people's beliefs to think they knew they were attracted to the same sex or opposite sex as a zygote or as a 2 week old infant.
Human sexuality seems to be very malleable. Heterosexual men seem capable of raping men in prison. Gay men after years of being married to a wife and siring children with her can divorce her and say they were gay all those years.
I think their biggest objection is using the word 'Married'. You could probably identify with that stand point better than I would having been married to a man. I'm sure it is ingrained in their heads that parents and married people are to supposed man and a woman and that will be difficult to change.

If these people are true conservatives, they should be all about personal liberty. The hypocritical ideas of the "conservative" party is what made me leave them for good.

That is basically what it comes down to. I can most identify with the Libertarian position; I may not be entirely comfortable with all of your positions but I should not stand in the way of your personal Liberties as a fellow American.

I'm not a libertarian. I'm not really any party. I vote for whoever fits with my ideals best. Sometimes R, sometimes D, sometimes I. Depends on the person, and his/her platform.
What if the person never wants to have kids? What if the person only wants to adopt? What is normal? People try so hard to make little boxes to fit the world into when that is impossible and you end up on the losing end.
What about a straight couple that has to go through fertility treatments just to have a baby? What about women who can't have a baby? What about straight couples that have another woman carry their baby to term? In your book, none of this would be normal and shouldn't be done....why should those people be punished too?
What about it? I had fertility treatments. None of us get everything in this life. I could have gone through with all the other treatments but all of it was against my conscience. No fertilizing many eggs from another woman and having them transplanted into me or having another woman carry our child. It's all outside of what we believe. At some point one needs to accept they won't have everything they desire. Gays aren't the only ones who have problems.

Well there is no guarantee of that with gay parents.
