To study global warming is essentially to study applied thermodynamics. The unfortunate thing about this science is that the study of it is riddled by various agendas, and are often plagued with warnings of incoming economical DOOM. As a result, some people don't trust any action by the government due to the findings of the studies, and rightfully so. At the same time, such findings can bring uncomfortable news. After all, no city wants to deal with the fact that they are going to drown soon, right?

Personally, I want to see a study where they figure out the optimal temperature for humans. Of course that study will take a long time, since the earth is a VERY complex system, both environmentally and economically.

you take the environmentalists out of it.

Humans over time have endured an omni-environment.

harsh degrees in every climate and we survive.

It's the reason why you live today.

It's also a big economical issue. That alone is controversial.

Oh we can certainly survive as a species, but people tend to get unhappy if they are forced to move.

Take the politics out of it.

Basically tell people that public policy will not be influenced by the environmental lobby. When people know you aren't trying to drastically change society they'll be more likely to listen.

Move or die. The folks in Greenland back in the day decided to stay. I wonder if they thought global warming was coming along???

I am not sure if they knew of the dynamics of climate...

...However today I read an article about people starting to garden in Greenland. Before you couldn't do that, but now people are growing things.

...Maybe it's for the best, at least for them.

Default How do you make global warming a less controversial issue

Sweep it under the rug, and stop talking about it, because there's no such thing.

But there IS such a thing as global warming. Earth warms up earth cools down. Sea level rises, sea level lowers. Deserts shrink, deserts grow. Ice age comes, ice age goes. A few thousand years ago, the Sahara wasn't a desert. Today, it's starting to rain again in Sahara. Climate change is a fascinating thing.
