It seems that every now and then the border patrol makes "fake busts" to make it seem as if they are doing their job, but in reality, many of us knows what really goes on at those borders.

Border patrol intercepts almost $1 billion in cocaine headed to U.S. - CNN.com

Think about this, if they are "so efficient" at this, then why is it that any 12 year old can easily sell/buy cocaine in the streets?

Who says the Border Patrol is "efficient?"

I think the only credible position to take is that the job of detecting the entry of drugs and other illegal items is damned difficult considering how large the border is.

The border with Canada is over 5500 miles.
The border with Mexico is over 1900 miles.
The total shoreline is over 12,000 miles.

Because the trillion dollar task force that was enumerated by the Constitution to defend our borders is overseas meddling in other nations' affairs.

I totally agree with that, its very sad but true and its been going on long before the 80's and the whole Iran Contra affair mess. Our tax dollars being wasted by these "gangsters" we call the border patrol.

They should have orders to shoot anyone attempting to cross without a visa.

The area of IRAQ is 169,234 sq mi, how come that was not an issue? Look at it now, there is nothing left.

Should they shoot after asking for a visa or assume everyone crossing is without a visa?

They should treat the mexican border in the same loosely guarded fashion they do with canada. Only then will they prove that "race" is not an issue in the border debate.
