I don't really see anything to be concerned about on this one, and I'm not all that fond of the public school system to begin with.
This happened at a $42,000/year private school - York Prep in NYC.

My bad. I read the last line as the location when it stated it right there in the first line.
So this is typical of schools all over the world..write a suicide note.

I would think in this day and age of bullying, depression, LGBT issues, drugs, teen pregnancies, they should be having the kids write more positive type notes.

Pretty far out there if you ask me.

Maybe the UK has a secret agenda to have their youth off themselves ?
York Prep is in New York, not the UK.

They're a prep school which means they are already engaging in assignments that require critical thinking. Not saying it's good or bad. I mean the parents thought they knew what they paid for and were surprised with what they got so there's a disconnect somewhere.

It gets confusing as England's dailymail.co.uk has become a huffingtonpost.com - just copying news agency articles from other news sites and some how outranking the original in Google.

Maybe the phrase "traditional curriculum" threw them off.
By HS many parents have stopped checking and helping with homework.
So I'm not surprised they found out after the fact.

It does sound interesting. Keeping the kids interested and motivated usually works much better than having them memorize everything by rote.
So yeah....much ado about nothing.
