I would think in this day and age of bullying, depression, LGBT issues,drugs, teen pregnancies, they should be having the kids write more positive type notes.

They're a prep school which means they are already engaging in assignments that require critical thinking. Not saying it's good or bad. I mean the parents thought they knew what they paid for and were surprised with what they got so there's a disconnect somewhere.

It gets confusing as England's dailymail.co.uk has become a huffingtonpost.com - just copying news agency articles from other news sites and some how outranking the original in Google.

Maybe the phrase "traditional curriculum" threw them off.
By HS many parents have stopped checking and helping with homework.
So I'm not surprised they found out after the fact.
So in other words, much ado about nothing. Actually, that sounds like a pretty interesting assignment. What would you write if you were writing your suicide note?....hmmm, I have no idea.
It does sound interesting. Keeping the kids interested and motivated usually works much better than having them memorize everything by rote.
