That is revising history.

The Democrats, party of "purity" even if it means rewriting history.

The Republicans have never been leftists, but they have always been classically liberal. Not the phoney "liberal" Democrats like call themselves, but truly liberal in sense that they support equal rights for everyone. Democrats have never supported equal rights, and still do not, as demonstrated for their continued support of Affirmative Action.

"From the time of its inception in 1854 as the anti-slavery party, the Republican Party has always been the party of freedom and equality for blacks. ... [T]he Democratic Party is the party of the four S's: slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism. Democrats first used brutality and discriminatory laws to stop blacks from voting for Republicans. Democrats now use deception and government handouts to keep blacks from voting for Republicans."

I agree, but they go well beyond just not talking about their long history of bigotry. They have their pawns (like urbanlife78) spew lies about their past and attempt to feebly blame Republicans for the acts that Democrats committed.

I do not blame urbanlife78 for his abject ignorance on the subject, he is merely a victim of the Democrat public education system. I am sure that he believes what he was taught, unfortunately it was all a lie.

Who is trying to revise history? I have pointed out many times that Southern Democrats were often far right in the political spectrum. Also the Democrat party is much different than it was 150 years ago. That is all well documented in history books. Seriously, you and Glitch are like trying to talk to a brick wall.
