Seems like this bill was written in hell.

How did Gay Rights issues show up in this Bill anyway?

Nope, Rubio is lockstepping to the GOPs drums.

Good little soldier that he is.

By the time the provison goes to votes...The SCOTUS will most likely have ruled on DOMA and Prop 8...So Mr. Rubio's objections may be moot.

Yes, God forbid we write a bill that doesn't discriminate against people for no reason.

I'm curious what psychologists would say about the gay haters on this board having the obsessive need to harp on gay articles every single day.

The Immigration Bill is a dumping ground for pork. I love how they have a portion that allows deportees to return. This bill needs to die.

It is truly disgusting that conservative opposition to so much legislation always hinges on whether some group of people are excluded or not from a bill.

I can't support that bill if it doesn't exclude women gaining access to birth control or abortions, I can't support that bill if it doesn't exclude illegal immigrants, I can't support that bill if it doesn't exclude homosexuals. I can't support that bill if it doesn't exclude Muslims, I can't support that bill if it doesn't exclude convicted criminals, I can't support that bill unless it excludes single moms, I can't support that bill unless it excludes women in Native American territories, I can't support that bill unless it excludes the mental ill, I can't support that bill and on and on and on.

This is all conservative elected officials do all day. The focus of their opposition always seems to come down to whether or not the bill excludes some group of people.

Again, it is so apparent that conservatives hate millions and millions of their fellow Americans.

I agree with him on this, because I am tired of seeing politicians sneak in all kinds of unrelated things into bills. Keep them short and simple, and they might actually pass without a 12 month debate.

Maybe but doesn't look good for your side. Evidently 3 out of the 4 SCOTUS opinions released today were authored by liberals. The thinking is that conservative judges will author the opinions of the remaining cases which include DOMA, Prop 8 , Voting Rights and Affirm Action.

Of course that could mean a conservative flipped with the liberals we will see next week.

Exactly, it is amazing to me that conservatives just flat all the time say, I won't support this bill unless it excludes fill in the blank.

I know a lot of people don't agree, but to me this stuff is just blatant proof that conservatives at the core hate millions of their fellow citizens and want to exclude them in all kinds of ways from fully participating in this society.
