can't see anything wrong here,as this should teach these women to keep their legs closed, unless they can pay or bag a decent man who will do

You are wrong for that. How do you bag a decent man? And how do you know that he is decent? What about the BABYDADDIES????? I get tired of hearing people blame the mother for everything last time I checked it takes 2 to tango. I'm not on welfare never have been and I'm a mother of 2. Sometimes when you meet someone they put on their good guy costume until the costume gets old and tired they finally show their true selves. Sometimes a woman want see that until it's to late so you just discipline the mother and her innocent children REALLY you have to be a young person who has a lot of growing up to do and experience in life needed to say something like this because it can happen to anybody.

I think that is the way to go, right?
Jesus would have been SO proud.

This is why people need to stop having sex with everyone. I think men with out of wedlock children are scum and I avoid them.

Wedlock? Sounds like some Victorian church term. I had four kids "out of wedlock" - I spent almost 30 years with their mother...all of my out of wedlock children are now functioning and contributing adults in society...and I am not scum....as for restricting the breeding of the poor...and cutting off their funding...well - IF a single mother is doing a good job and raising reasonable well behaved human beings..there should be no limit on how many------If that mother is rearing useless and destructive criminals...and one of her young children break the law...then I can see cutting off funding..>We do not pay money through taxes to create a subculture of people that will bring harm to us and society are large...Why would we do that?

Because Americans are too weak to say no.

Flawed design of the welfare state.

Unintended consequences.

We're masochistic.

Take your pick.

The problem is most out of wedlock children are not born to dads with the mom. You were common law it sounds like but most out of wedlock is different.

That would be clever if single mothers meant daddy was dead.

The mother can still get benefits but they shouldn't go up because she had another kid. Should stay the same.

I work in social services and have for many years. In my state (which is pretty typical of the other 49 in this regard) the average SNAP (food stamp) benefit equates to $1.41 per meal per family member.

Woot! Livin' laaaarge.

What a great and noble idea,...starve the child for the sins of the mother. It's really disgusting that those on the right never mention the taboo subject of corporte welafare. The words that may NEVER be uttered. CORPORATE WELFARE!!!!!!
