we are, all the time.. the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
it is not irrational emotion, it is a basic observation of fact, logic, reason, human nature, and history.
So you can't buy all the guns you want even in gun happy Nevada? That is surprising. Kind of hard to argue against your irrational emotion....so have you done anything to fight for this freedom other than post about it on the internet?
I am sure it's very difficult for your hypothetical person to get a gun. no black market there. wink wink.
Well if you have no way to check that the guy just got out of prison, it should be easy to stroll into any gun shop and walk out when any gun you want. That seems to be what the irrationally emotional pro-gun group seems to want.

so instead, he will just go into an alley and buy one out of the back of a van. if a criminal wants a gun, and criminal will get a gun.

And that is why I want to see us go after those who buy guns legally with the intention to sell them illegally. Unless you are trying to say the criminal will buy a gun illegally so why not just let him buy it legally no questions asked, that sounds a bit reckless.

and if we ban cocaine and meth, no one will be able to buy!, oh wait.
you are aware their is no way to do that which heavily restricting, and infringing upon the right of law abiding person who have do nothing wrong.
I know, life was so much better when we use to have organized crime gun fights going on. Maybe you should do some research on why each of those Acts were passed.
To fight crime? are you aware the after prohibition ended so did most of the crime?
so you are telling me democratic politicians exploited a crisis to limit the freedoms of law abiding citizens? I am shocked!
so because crooks commit crimes we should all suffer?
Ideally I would like to see us get to a point where it is easy to track a gun to see where it goes from legal to illegal to better track those that are selling guns illegally. But as we both know, there will never be a bill that is proposed that will accomplish that.
Does that answer the whiny rightie's question?
No, it does not, but of course, you still have not educated yourself on the subject. You continue to spew leftist talking points like a good leftist.
