The ongoing Benghazi investigation, the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups, the DOJ collecting journalists’ phone records, the NSA surveillance revelations, the continuously bumpy ObamaCare rollout, and etcetera — it’s tough to pinpoint the precise effect any one debacle is having on the president’s approval rating, but it looks like the collective effect of the snowballing scandals and bureaucratic failures is definitely starting to manifest itself. A new national CNN/ORC poll pegs Obama’s approval rating at just 45 percent — the lowest he’s scored in over a year and a half and a drop of eight percentage points over just the past month.

It's pretty shocking that he still has a 45% approval rating. Tells you a lot about the ignorance of the American electorate. It's hard to blame the electorate, however, when the media acts as the propaganda wing of the Obama administration and the Democrat Party.

Anyway...it's progress.

It is astounding that he still has a 45% approval rating. I really think that 8 point drop can be attributed to the media finally doing its job and actually reporting instead of cheerleading. Obama administration's biggest mistake was tapping those AP reporters.

There is no doubt that the last two Presidencies have revealed the very worst in Government corruption, dishonesty and waste.

The difference is while his predessecor entered amid skepticsm after the 2000 election; this President entered with a great sense of hope from most of the electorate and has dissapointed.
It is mainly because the two party system is failing the Republic.

His approval is subject to a floor of about 40%. 95% of blacks will support him no matter what he does or doesn't do - so that puts him at 13%. 70% of Latinos will support him no matter what he does or doesn't do - so that puts him at probably 25%. And then you have white liberals who long ago sold their objectivity and patriotism down the river, which brings Obama's approval floor up to around 40%.

In other words, he's sinking about as low as possible.

IN other NeWs! 45% of Political facts are made up on the spot.

Media still supports but that is lessening. Presidents are selected not elected, thus why we had Romney the shill.

Although Bush's election in 2000 was controversial, I would have to say that he comported himself far better than the Obama administration on issues like good government, transparency, and accountability.

The sad thing is, Obama and his administration know that they can do whatever they want because their voters will never hold them accountable for anything. Hence we get the kind of abuses that we're seeing erupt over and over and over again.

The hubris of Obama is unparalleled, and it should be interesting to see where it takes us over the next 3 years. One thing's for sure, he and his supporters don't think anything is wrong with his Presidency, so it's unlikely much will ever change - despite the mountain of evidence proving that the problems of abuse and corruption in this White House are legion.

It doesn't matter. He's in office for 3.5 more years.
He's not up for re-election.
They will do what it takes to make the party look good as we near 2016 elections.
He's gone in 2016 so it doesn't matter what people think of him.

Maybe Bush himself came across more as an everyday person than an elitist. But his administration ie Cheney, was nothing close to what you describe. Their authoritarian regime did not reduce Government waste and corruption.
The Warhawk mentality also has decimated our country and continues to regardless who is President as we see we are now arming syrian rebels. I guess they do not recall we also armed Osama Bin Laden in the 80s which turned out to be a very wise decision.

Let me guess, the majority of the 45% are liberals, and the overwhelming majority of those are black.
