Oh dear, the conservatives on here are going to be so disappointed that Chicago isn't in the top 10. Pity.
nope, not from me, I am suspect when it comes to any studies like this. There are too many things that need to be taken into consideration and not just the numbers, the overall atmosphere, population, who is actually committing the crimes, etc. The list we see today could be completely different tomorrow or next month. Chicago is not on the list, so what? This is what I am referring to: some sections of Chic are very upscale, how many parts of Flint, Mi do you think are upscale? There are still sections of Chic that most of us would not want to even drive through, certainly not walk though. The larger the city, the less likely you will see them on one of these lists.
If you want to make that argument, then you should also note that cities in Texas such as Houston, Dallas and Austin have their own unique ways of fudging numbers in their favor.
Chicago includes more stats into its "rape" than is common on the federal level, so the federal stats throw out that portion. You can easily look up all other murder, shootings, robbery or property crimes.
Despite being a "media darling" for murder and crime, Chicago is actually right about in the middle of the pack for large city homicide and crime rates.
Dallas, Phoenix, Chicago, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Washington DC.....they all go up and down but are roughly the same each year. I think Chicago just gets picked out because it's so much larger and has a greater number of sheer murders.
2011 murder rates;
Chicago 15.9
Houston 9.2
Phoenix 7.9
No, they are not "roughly the same". Chicago is 100% higher than Phoenix and 73% higher than Houston.
Harrier thinks that white liberal policies have caused young black men to be confined in prison, their young wives or girlfriends sentenced to be single parents, their children to be caught up in a dead end life that they didn't create, and the liberal dismissal of the value of fatherhood has facilitated both, along with the misguided war on drugs which was begun by Democratic President Lyndon Johnson.
Skin color has nothing to do with crime - adverse circumstances and non-positive choices - do.
Nevertheless, the demographic who does commit much crime should be identified, if only for the reason that they should quit relying on big government(as embodied by the DNC) and begin to solve their own problems(which the RNC gives them the credit to know how to do).
Democrats treat black people like children and pander for their votes.
Republican realize that all people of voting age are adults, and encourage them to choose their own path of success in the spirit of opportunity and liberty.
Good post! And exactly describes the source of the problem.
