What they need to do now is find out who in DC asked Shafer (the Republican IRS manager) to send in those applications.
Who is Shafer's boss ?

Thats all they have now is insulting attacking others opinions when it doesn't conforms to their agenda . Socialism is a cancer time for some chemo to rid ourselves of these vermin.

The bold seem to be exactly what every republican posting in this forum is doing.

I havent seen a single post on this thread from someone right of center that says Liberals simple disagree with you. They all say liberals are doing this to hide something.

Darrell Issa lied, and was claiming he was going to release the transcript himself not to long ago, now that Cumming did exactly what Issa claimed he would do, it is impeding the investigation. That doesnt even make sense.

This thread does nothing more than show how partisan this nation is.

I noticed that too. When their entire argument is "you're stupid - nah nah nah" they're either trying to derail the subject and getting the mod to close the thread or they really don't have much to offer.

And there is Elizabeth Hofacre, the Cincinnati IRS agent who for several months in 2010 was charged with handling all tea-party applications. She told the committee that she understood the "lookout list" used to flag the applications of tea-party groups was also intended to flag those of Republican and conservative groups. When the applications of liberal groups came in, she sent them along for general processing. "
The above paragraph neatly captures the essence of the corruption -- the IRS was applying a different standard of examination and scrutiny to conservative groups and individuals than they were liberal groups and individuals.

The IRS does not even dispute this. What is at issue is the motivation and rationale. The IRS amusingly says that there was no political motivation -- despite the simple fact that political identity was the primary screening factor.

Because of the stonewalling -- e.g., like an IRS manager taking the 5th and two IRS Commissioners totally losing their memories --- it's going to take a while to unravel this particular nest of IRS corruption.

Congressman Cummings knows this...hence he is going to play the "nothing to see here" card as long and as hard as he can. They need to stop the investigation process by the IG and Oversight Committee. Everything they get from the interviews now (not the case during the audit process) is under oath.

We've learned that the IG process is broken - Inspector Generals are intimidated, their reports "changed" (State Department) and we don't even have real Inspector Generals is crucial departments like Homeland Security, Defense, Health and Human Services, Department of Justice, Labor Relations, Interior and the US State Department.

From a former Inspector General and the problems they face .....

Why the IRS Inspector General Stopped with an Audit

I'll start believing Elijah Cummings and the IRS leadership (all former Obama White House people) when they can convince me that they would still be singing the same tune if the shoe was on the other foot ..... IF the Target Groups were all Progressives like Media Matters and Obama for America, IF the IRS leadership during and after the Targeting were top members from a Republican President's White House. The IRS Targeting Scandal would in the news 24/7 if the Targets were Democrats and the President was a Republican. Elijah Cummings would not be calling it a "Witch Hunt" and "Over".

He has drawn a pretty clear line in the sand ...... Hard to hide that it's "OK" if Republicans and Conservatives are the Target.
