yes that is true. as i said, us americans can go after our president because he
is our president, not yours. i might not like obamas policies, and i have said
so loudly time after time, but i wont let a foreigner attack my president. you
need a reading comprehension class because i said EXACTLY THAT in my first
post.
I guess you missed all the threads cheering the Irish MP on for pooping on Obama. And the kudos for Russians dissing Obama.

I didn't know you weren't a US citizen, never seen you use the word whilst either.

It's because you are a pinko commie.

I have NEVER experienced any such hostility simply based on perceived citizenship on this forum.

What I have experienced is hostility stemming from disagreements on emotional issues.

In other words, I do not share your experience - most people are quite clear that everybody is entitled to opinions - US citizens certainly feel free to share opinions about other nations, don't they?

Intellectual curiosity etc. is all fancy liberal talk.

They have no interest in anything beyond Kansas or wherever, so they cannot possibly imagine why you have interest in the world.
Wow, talk about stupid, huh! You are the pot calling the kettle black. Now I am hoping that your fancy takin' liberal self understands, I for one, do not agree with your foolish comments.

It's good to see countries stand up to the American government... We overreach too much.

You can COMMENT all you want, I don't care.
You can say whatever you wish about any person or portion of /in our government, I don't care.
You can state what the laws are in YOUR country, I don't care.
BUT, when you say that we are stupid or irresponsible because OUR laws are not in line with YOUR laws, then you have crossed an invisible line, and somebody will take you to task over it! WE are not YOU, and we probably don't think like your citizens do. THAT is a fact! We like it that way, and THAT also is a FACT!
We like our Constitution just the way it is written. We don't CARE what the rest of the world thinks of it.

this isn't a one way street... furriners get angry when Americans voice our opinion about their countries, too.

Ahhh.... One of my favorite posters. Smart. Funny. Always a pleasure to read.

Then there are the non-Americans who are not particularly smart nor funny and who see themselves as knowledgeable experts on all things American including our culture and our history. Then, while getting our culture and history wrong, they'll slip in how horrible we all are and how we're doing it all wrong and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah until one wants to yell, "We know you hate us and think *fill in the blank* is so much better but for Pete's sake give it a rest!"

Those are the ones that get told off.

It's got nothing to do with the fact that the poster isn't American and everything to do with the poster thinking the sun shines out his/her butt because he/she isn't American. Umm... no. It's doesn't.

They aren't hostile as long as the person agrees with their opinion. conservatives are very hateful people generally speaking. They don't like any nation's besides their fantasy version of America. They don't like the real America mind you, only their fantasy version of America, and they absolutely hate every other nation on the planet because all of the rich nation's are too socialist, and all of the poor nations are too non white.

So any person who says they are a foreigner who doesn't tow the conservative party line will be attacked as a collectivist/socialist/communist foreigner.
