Documents released today from the Inspector General' investigation into IRS "targeting" clearly show the IRS also signaled out liberal groups, keying on "look out" words like "progressive", "health care", "Occupy", and "Middle East/Israel":
Congressional Democrats want the IG to appear, and explain why he allowed the nature of the IRS practice to be mis-characterized for so long by the GOP as only targeting conservative "Tea Party" groups for tax exempt scrutiny, when internal records clearly show the practice extended to likely liberal groups activities as well.
With the GOP propaganda wing seizing the issue so fast and so effectively, it may be impossible for the facts to intrude on the settled public perceptions on this issue.
Does go to show that, as effed- up as they are, the GOP is still the boss when it comes to quickly spreading misinformation through its media organs, Fox and talk radio
The reality is that right-wing ignorance overwhelms today's American discourse on the power of its dogged insistence on repeating lies often enough, ignoring moral consideration of others vigorously enough, and continually doubling-down on defense of superlatively offensive and antisocial self-centeredness.
The latest NYT/DNC propaganda/spin on this scandal is hilarious. The Democrats were given the opportunity to produce witnesses when the IRS hearings were held, but they didn't produce anyone. If there were liberal interest groups unfairly targeted, it seems to me that they should have let us know back then. But of course there weren't, and this NYT pap is simply that alleged newspaper running more interference for the Democrats.
Hopefully this means our "friends" on the left will join us in abolishing the IRS, but I highly doubt it.
