Actually, the South was home to thousands of terrorist acts committed against American citizens and sanctioned by the establishment there. They should have been more than a whipping boy - the South should have never been allowed to institute Jim Crow....and they can't be allowed to try to reinstitute any aspects of it now.
Republicans have two options if they ever want to win another national election.
1. Rig the electoral college using the method described above
2. Support gay marriage
Why they would choose dishonest, shady option 1 over option 2 beats me. As for voter ID's, they are as racist as whites only businesses. The government should ban them nationwide.
You forgot 3 and 4.
3. Let liberals have their way and watch this country go down the toilet, the gov tosses the constitution, starvation and finally revolution ending in another conservative republic get established.
4. Start kicking out the Rhinos and move the party back to the right. Kick out the social issues and move back to a individual/states right perspective.
Right now republicans have 2 sorry choices. 1 a liberal that is radical left and supports nothing they believe in, and 2 a centrist who supports things they think we care about.
“With today’s decision, the State’s voter ID law will take effect immediately," Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott said in a statement. "Redistricting maps passed by the Legislature may also take effect without approval from the federal government.”
In blocking those redistricting maps last year, a separate panel of federal judges ruled that the government "provided more evidence of discriminatory intent than we have space, or need, to address" in their opinion. Attorney General Eric Holder cited the Texas redistricting case in his statement criticizing the Supreme Court's ruling.
So they're gonna enact measures that they couldn't have before with the Voting Rights act. That says a hell of a lot
So your proof that voter suppression is taking place is that Eric Holder says so? The same Eric Holder who said there wasn't any evidence to use against the black panthers who were video taped with clubs outside a polling station?
Yes, the country has changed. The problem is the Republicans have also changed. They were in favor of voting rights back in 1965, now they're not. States passing laws of voter suppression is not a thing of the past, it is happening today
here in Georgia we sent out mobile photo trucks for FREE ID's
worked great
we have more folks voting that ever before
it works
it is just the race baiters that
spread lies
like the op did here
jim crow, my ass~~
Maybe there would have been less opposition if that was the plan from day one...if that plan were communicated to the people...
Obama thrives on people being uninformed and the media makes sure to spread misleading information such as the results of the SCOTUS.
From the media articles you'd think it would be a lucrative investment to put all your money in chain and schackle manufacturing companies.
Divide and conquer, keep the people uninformed. Prerequisites for imposing a new ideology that would otherwise be distasteful if presented on its merits.
