That is so revisionist and Orwellian. Marriage for fifty thousand years is and was a "baby making enterprise" ...Who are you kidding?...all of a sudden within 20 years of human history... suddenly human beings and their mating to achieve reproduction is NOW something new? MARRIAGE IS MATING....Birds get married...many animals in the natural world take on a life time mate...and it is not just to go out to dinner and take vacations at some spa. "pop out kids" ??? what is this now...some sort of dirty and un-natural event? Its NORMAL. People who get together and do not breed are NOT mated - they are not naturally married...Why is it people who are human defy nature? I have never seen a couple no matter who they are - who are fully mature and developed as human beings until they have kids...it is a developmental issue...a progression. To take the artificial view is regressive. THAT IS A FACT.

That's not what it's about, it's about money and pretending to be equal to a man and wife being the bedrock of the family institution. We would gladly give up the tax perks, to keep the gov't where it doesn't belong in the first place. For the most part, we have more couples shacking up with children than ever before, because single mothers are victims of children. The gov't owns those kids now.

You're all confused. Marriage is not a baby-making enterprise. Marriage is a social and financial contract. If the folks don't want kids, FINE, if kids happen, FINE, if kids don't happen, FINE. Do YOU get married just to pop out kids out??? Get it clear once and for all.

The point I was making is that even though not everyone one wants kids, two men together cannot create one.

I live in NYC where "gay pride" is everywhere you look. I never understood "gay pride". What is that? I'm heterosexual. I dont see why I should or should not be proud of that. It is what it is. Being heterosexual is the way a human man was designed to be. Being gay is not normal. Its a genetic defect. Would someone who was born deformed or blind be proud of that?
It is not a defect, it is normal. Heterosexuals advertise their sexuality all the time, in the news, in news papers, on TV, in the movies, it is all the time, everywhere in your face straight this, straight that, men seeking women, men using viagra or cialis to please their wives. It is constant, especially late at night. Why must you straight people advertise your sexuality all the time?
