I love horse racing, but is anyone against it , and does anyone support a ban?

Harrier would be interested in hearing the reasons for a ban.

Harrier supports horse racing.

I'm not taking a side here... but there's a difference between killing an animal for supper and torturing an animal with cruelty for entertainment/gambling.

Has anyone suggested a ban on it?

I mean, I haven't heard of such a thing, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Unless it could be proven that the horses were really treated cruelly, why ban it?

I'm a huge animal lover, and hunting (for example) isn't my thing personally, but that doesn't mean I want to prevent other people from doing it.

so are you saying that racing is akin to 'torture', because that's quite a leap?

Horse racing... no... Mr. Chowhound isn't down with that.....
