Everyone please count your fingers today and on the 5th of July take that count again and report back.

Note if your state enforces fireworks bans, count the lost fingers to see if the laws are working.

Ironic that it was Independence day that gave birth to our government protecting us from ourselves.

[MOD CUT/off topic]

Many of the fireworks displays around here have been cancelled b/c of the forest fires. More out of respect, I guess, than out of fear of a fire. My little town is still having them.

What if some of us can't count that high?

Happy Fourth everyone! Like an idiot, I volunteered to work; a decision I'm already regretting.

Happy 4th to all of you, [MOD CUT/off topic]. A friend bought some fireworks in Missouri and is putting on a show, these displays are always better than the downtown displays.

Don't forget, 150 years ago today Gettysburg would start, and end on the 4th of July. And also remember that both President Adams and President Jefferson died on the same day: July 4th, 1826.

Somehow it seems preordained.
