That's what Austrian newspapers reported in the first place. I guess they were struggling with translation issues.
But both Swiss and German newspapers initially reported that the plane was indeed searched citing "Austrian media". No translation issues here. Sounds fishy to me.
One mans traitor is another man's hero. Traitor to what? Snowden is a conscientious objector of sorts. When the current administration looks upon all American citizens as potential enemies of the state and logs and stores ALL digital information and communication of ALL citizens for possible future use against them....Then these sin collectors should not be ashamed of being exposed.
Put it this way. If there were a 20 story apartment building with 200 units..and it was owned an operated by a corporation that acted as land lord AND this company monitored all communication coming in and out of all the units - and stored this private information is a data base and YOU found out...Would you notify your fellow tenants or not? To expand on the concept...IF this landlord operated in a state where there were strong tenant rights and strong obligations and duties concerning landlords...and eviction was difficult....AND the storing of private information had two purposes...Number one...to track incomes so it could be evaluated who's rent you could raise...and Number two - to facilitate evictions.
As for EU nations cowering under the power of the USA...it's typical- If it is not submission to Islamic immigrants - it's a submission to imperial power- The EU is run by girly men- This is proof of it..To block the flight of a head of state over a nation THAT IS NOT YOUR NATION - is as far reaching as you can get...and an abuse of sovereign nations. This action only shows...If American authorities try to wield this kind of power and control over the head of state of another nation IMAGINE HOW MUCH THEY ARE CAPABLE OF DISRESPECTING THEIR OWN CITIZENS?
