And I'm talking about the long term engagement of our State Department on the issue.

Another example of where you are playing checkers and the smart people are playing chess.

Not even a mention of withholding our money until they fixed their problems.
So we give and take our aid on a daily basis after reading the news to see if some religious nut has knocked off a Christian? Get real! You don't suppose that would just lead to more Christians getting knocked off to influence policy do you?

Even checkers has more strategy than his posts suggest he is capable of grasping.

It's more than some "religious nut". Go read up on what's been happening under Morsi regarding the Coptic Christians.

Mubarek at least kept the Islamists under control so the Christians could live in peace there.

Obama's foreign policy is a map and a handful of darts while the drone engines rev up.

And you still don't feel better?

Maybe you should try a bowl of ice cream. Or a beer.

Egypt's caretaker president Adly Mansour: a veteran judge who worked under both Mohammed Morsi and Hosni Mubarak

Egypt's new caretaker president Adly Mansour had been head of the Supreme Constitutional Court for just two days when the army named him leader of the Arab world's most populous state.

...
Ironically he was named by Mr Morsi himself to Egypt's top judicial post, which, following the army's suspension of the constitution, catapulted him into political power.

The 67-year-old father of three, who won a scholarship to France's most prestigious institute of higher education, the Ecole Nationale de l'Administration, was a long-serving judge under the regime of veteran strongman Hosni Mubarak.

Hmmm, so lots of connections to everyone....hopefully he can steer a clear course in these stormy waters.
