If you and I were in an altercation and I pulled something that looked like a gun and pointed it at you, what would you do? Just stand there and ask questions?
Looked at a few Utube videos..There is one where a helpless homeless man who poses no danger to cops - who is retreating - but he has a knife in his hand because he is crazy...is shot. Not just shot...but shot firing squad style...A substantial group of cops let go such an intense volley of shots that it sounds like machine gun fire...It was as if ALL the cops wanted the thrill of the kill.
If this homeless crazy person were a doctor...a lawyer - or a wealthy wall street type who had lost their mind...They would NEVER have been executed in the street. If they were to execute a person of wealth and influence there would have been hell to pay.
Are some cops sizing things up in their minds? Do some of them think..."we can get away with killing this one - but not that one"???
I don't think that is necessarily true anymore ... maybe a decade or two ago, but not now ... not in the gulag streets of America, where cops taser 11 year old autistic girls ... beat women up at routine traffic stops ... perform street-side cavity searches, and take blood by force at DUI checkpoints.
Remember those cops looking for the other LA cop Dorner? How they indiscriminately filled a car with bullets that didn't even match the suspect's vehicle? How they were caught on audio tape saying "torch him", and they proceeded to burn down the cottage he was supposed to be holed up in? How did they know someone else wasn't in there? A hostage perhaps? Well, they couldn't know that, but they don't care. That is flagrant, in-your-face execution, with the police now serving as judge and jury too. I could list hundreds of examples that have transpired in just the past year. These goon squad roid head cops have been militarized ... been given a license to kill, and they are using it .... all across the country.
Yes your right I want to be a police officer because its one of the highest paying jobs out there
Try .... it's one of the two biggest growth sectors in employment these days? This police state - medical dictatorship is providing secure growth in an otherwise retracting economy ... security/police and the medical field are both booming.
Furthermore, lots of jurisdictions pay pretty good money to police ... way far above the average median income ... particularly for those who's IQ's and authoritarian nature in substantial majority do not exactly qualify them for high dollar white collar professional careers.
18 Officers have been killed by gunfire this year in a country of over 300 Million. Chris Dorner was responsible for 3 deaths. 1 Officer died due to a stabbing.
We don't have an issue of citizens attacking the Police in this country. That's a myth outside of a few select neighborhoods in this country. There's many other near deaths not in those numbers, and I'm not saying that Police aren't at risk, but I'm saying that they should be able to assess the risk level better.
How do they think that normal people, who often live and work in dangerous neighborhoods, go about their daily lives without killing people? I've been around live rounds and still haven't used a gun on anyone in my life (I'm pro 2nd amendment though). Some people are scared or wanna be tough guys. The latter is the worst. When it's an issue of being scared, turn in your badge or find another way to help the police (admin, etc). When its a tough guy, prosecute them and put them in a place where everybody's a tough guy.
We need a peaceful police force. Most of America is very safe and a burglary or non-violent robbery is the worst that would ever happen. Our most dangerous neighborhoods and areas distort the numbers when most of the country is relatively safe.
First of all, if you are so tightly wound that you can't distinguish a water nozzle from a fire arm, you most definitely should NOT have authority....and a weapon.
Secondly, no one is twisting their arm to be a cop, or holding a gun to their heads. They do it for the paycheck and all the benefits. They have the biggest unions in the country.
What do you expect when you've got a federal government actually spying on the citizens and the POTUS actually defending that? All powerful government.

Don't forget about that black kid they shot in the back while three cops were standing on him (all on youtube). The problem is that the judge essentially let that cop go. They have zero accountability. The police unions are even defending that cop who executed someone during a roadrage incident while off duty. The blue wall of "defend murder as long as it protects one of our own."

It's gonna take people on all sides of the aisle coming together. The rational ones at least. There's points to be made on all sides. Right now I believe its about getting back our rights and protections. My life is more valuable than some punk cop I'm sorry. I do not want to die because some cop is trigger happy. Especially when his paycheck is being drawn from my hard earned money.
They joke about it. It's funny to some of them. Some of them are just sick and its tolerated. The good cops or people who don't play along are usually punished or shunned. It's a sick environment these days. Especially when the laws are becoming more and more unjust.
Maybe we should start a public fund for Police whistleblowers.
It seems as if every town or city has bad cops. Cops that everyone knows is riding an ego trip. We get exactly what we are willing to tolerate.
