Well, I think the police officier isn't at fault. God must of wanted that teacher called home asap, and the officer was just a tool to make it happened
I read the article, and two facts glared out at me. Disgruntled former military, and the fact that he's a Southerner. I'm gonna keep saying it until it sinks in to everyone, COPS NEED TO HAVE A BACHELOR'S DEGREE OR HIGHER. Why? Because the meatheaded, roid raging disgruntled former enlistees can't get in if that was the case. We want smart people to be cops, not traumatized vets (although in his case I don't know) who can't live a single moment without thinking someone's gonna pull a gun on him. I don't hear of too many cases of FBI agents shooting an unarmed person, do you? 99% of the time it's some municipal beat cop
They don't want smart people to be cops. If one is smart, they are overqualified:
It's like I said. Most military enlistees only have a high school diploma or GED. When they get out of the military after 6 or so years, chances are they are not going to pursue higher education in large. That would then weed out the trigger happy cops. It's not about the bachelor's degree in and of itself. It would help establish the fact that you have critical thinking skills.
I'd like to say, lastly, that I'm not bashing those that don't have a college degree. There are a lot of fine people out there that do well without one. However, you should be held to a much higher standard if you want to have that badge AND a gun to boot.
actually 59% of enlisted have at least some college
Prosecutors and Judges have an obligation to help cops as much as possible if they should be caught committing some crime.
What ????????????????? Did you forget the smiley face?
