Nice to know the Hoser State is plowing straight ahead into the 18th century.
I think Indiana's legislature must be particularly inept, but... State's rights. If the people of Indiana don't like it, then the legislature and the law will change.
Who said all conservatives or even most support Indiana's law? Anybody who respects the Constitution will be against the law banning wedding ceremonies for same sex couples in churches that wish to perform them, even if they are completely against homosexuality or same sex marriage.
Adding to that, a conservative would be against any law permitting marriage as well. Why should a person need governments permission to marry someone they love?
What a farce. I'd be forced to vote for gay marriage in order to allow someone their freedom. Why were those freedoms compromised in the first place? Because big government runs amok and wants to control our lives. Freedom isn't piecemeal, it's for all of the people, all of the time. Always treat the cause and not the symptom.
It's now a FELONY in Indiana to apply for a marriage as a same sex couple
Shouldn't surprise anyone who's old enough to have clear memories of the 80s.
All kinds of minor offenses have been rebranded felonies in recent decades. Part of the "law and order" crap politicians used back then to get elected by posing as "tough on crime."
Now, America (the land of liberty) has the world's largest prison population, even though violent crime has been declining steadily. But (again, starting in the 80s) prisons have been "privatized", meaning that more inmates = higher profits (from taxpayer dollars) for the political insiders who get the contracts to run those prisons. Yes, "privatizing" is the nutballs' answer for nearly everything.
When I was a schoolboy back in the 50s and 60s, my teachers would tell us kids that communism is horrible - just look at all those prisoners in Russia and China! Nowadays we can see how crony capitalism is "superior."

Then quit supporting people like Obama and Romney. If you know something is poison why do you keep eating it?
Show me where Obama or Romney either one ran a "law and order" campaign.
You can't.
I never said they did but why search for the truth when you can make things up and deflect like most of your drama queen posts.

Obama is currently upholding Federal Marijuana Laws. He's in charge. It's his policy. If he told the Drug Czar, WHO HE APPOINTS, to stop going after marijuana users that person will.
Which President in their right mind appoints someone to a position who has a different policy than the President himself?
