Could you please elaborate on this. What did Zimmerman do to put Trayvon in a position where he had to defend himself?
The evidence of bruising on Trayvon Martin from Zimmerman punching him is...where?
What about the evidence that Trayvon Martin had safely made it to the back porch of his father's fiancee's house? (Testimony from star prosecution witness.)
Why didn't Trayvon Martin call the police if he thought he was in danger? He had a working cell phone! Why didn't he run into the townhouse?
Why did Trayvon, instead, go out of his way to look for George Zimmerman?
Did you pay any attention to the actual facts of this case? The Prosecution bent over backwards to try to get a conviction (and even concealed evidence favorable to the defense) and the best the Trayvon supporters can do is make emotional arguments and ignore the facts of the case in spite of the Prosecution investigating and putting forth its best arguments.
Hmmm. Interesting. Do you really believe that it's only black people that disagree with the verdict?
No, I don't. Nancy Grace seemed to disagree with the verdict (and she also supported railroading the victims of the Duke Lacrosse Rape Hoax as did many villainous white professors who were member's of Duke's infamous "Group of 88".). Many white people who's only knowledge of the case is the misleading popular story that Zimmerman stalked and murdered Trayon Martin also probably disagree with the verdict. There are certainly tons of irrational and ignorant white people in the world, too.
You wouldn't dare have the audacity to say that to a White child.
Actually I think that should be told to all kids. Especially of you live in cities with gang and drug problems. When he gets old enough to understand I will make sure I tell him just that. The drug and gang problem is not exclusively black, as you already know. And if you live like me, in Chicago, and your son is going to a Chicago public school, this is a concern for me too.
Tell us how you put someone in a position to have to defend themselves without touching them?
by appearing menacing.
by appearing menacing to a kid who just turned 17.
a kid who was outside, alone because of the rain. no people walking dogs. no people running for exercise. no people riding bikes or weeding their gardens.
Also, people fail to understand that in FLORIDA when the temps hit the 60s and it's raining, we Floridians get COLD!!! Sometimes in the rain even in the low 70s in Florida, it's COLD to us. In South Florida, even without rain, people break out the heavy winter coats in the 60s!!
If Trayvon was so uncomfortable from the rain and cold, what was he doing standing around and looking in people's windows? Most people, when in a rain storm, will walk fairly quickly and deliberately to their destination. They know enough to come in out of the rain.
IIRC, it was about an hour between the time TM left the convenience store and the "confrontation", and the store was less than a mile from his home. A mile...a distance overweight, out of shape adults can still cover in 15 minutes. Let alone a 17 year old in excellent physical condition.
Nothing wrong or illegal about ant of that. But certainly things a reasonable person could describe as suspicious.
Now that I think about this, yes, the greatest tragedy of all IS that the media and other race baiters ramped this up for their own ends.
An even greater tragedy is that so many blindly believe the media's, the government's, and the race-baiters' spin and propaganda instead of considering the actual facts.
The jury considered the actual facts and had no choice but to acquit Z. Defending oneself when being battered in the head is in fact justifiable. Had TM not repeatedly battered Z, the outcome may very well have been different.
I had a private school education. A career as a drug dealer was definitely not even on our radar.
You were very fortunate. Not all kids grow up like that. I grew up in a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden. We were even taught in elementary school how bad drugs were. And this was in the 80s. Its never too early.
