Because most people in America are too young to even remember Eisenhower. Republicans invoke Reagan, not because he was the best Republican president ever, but because he was the best in recent decades and many people today still remember what he looked like. It's just politics.

That would probably be true. Eisenhower's presidency was from 1953-1961.

I thought Republicans were the party of small government?
Most are hypocrites just like their inbred cousins the dems who are supposed to be tolerant and champion civil liberties , but seem to love laws restricting choices and behaviours they dont agree with.
