And Hispanic means Spanish so yes you can be White Hispanic and many people who have native american and/or African blood opts to identify as "White Hispanic" and it matters little to most people since most people do not consider "Hispanics" in America white anyway.

As for Obama being a "white african american", "whiteness" is based on exclusion from the "non-white races", so he isn't considered white, rather he's considered black with some European heritage.
Good try at splitting hairs. According to anthropological conventional wisdom, race is all a cultural construct anyway. Is a Ford Pinto with a spoiler and air dams a sports car? Is a 4 door Dodge Charger with 300 HP a family sedan? Who knows; who cares. The marketing dept makes up the definitions on the fly and runs with it.

I'm talking about it as a cultural construct, I don't know what you're getting at.

The best way to end racism would be for all the little race boxes to disappear on government forms. It's all pointless now to have the race category on census forms and all other government forms. The term "white hispanic"is silly. Someone is from Latin America or they aren't, what should it matter if they are white or not?

BRAVO!!!!!! *and we ALL know it won't happen as long as government is focusing on it. And in my lifetime, I will never see our government in the U.S. give up any control.

That won't end racism in the minds of the people. It'll just take away demographic data, just pretending it never existed isn't going to happen, and it won't automatically take away the inequalities that are there

It would help. Then we'd all be equal in the eyes of the government.

It's getting stupider and stupider as they invent more and more categories and boxes to select from. It keeps people thinking that their race is really important.

If you go to church they don't ask you what your race is -- at least most wouldn't.

Actually this is a really great idea. Governments are designed to exert control over the population by using divide and conquer tactics. See Multiculturalism As A Tool To Divide And Conquer: The Layman's Primer - Essay by Louis Beam. See also :....http://www.dailybrian.com/brian-brow...-controls-you/. It is also disturbing how our government panders to social media to advance their own agenda.

Witness how Hollywood teaches more to kids today about war, weapons and violence, than the military and agencies combined. Nowadays, your average American is more likely to explain how Instagram works, what TMZ is, and the latest fashion trend on Honey Boo Boo than be able to name their local Congressman, Senator or the members of our Cabinet.

I'm curious do you call people who have ancestors from Ireland, Irish Americans? Do you call people that are German, German American? My son is half Korean and I don't call him Korean American. He was born here. He's just an American.

Great post! Get rid of it entirely! It's stupid. Everyone should go by education, criminal background, experience, etc.
