The madrasahs are already kicking out extreme Sharia obedience so it wont be long before their numbers will be into the public schools to demand the same

By sticking to dates, names and places.

The same way that many American students learn the history of the Middle Ages.

It may bore the students to death, but keep it dry and boring, and radicals won't have any reason to riot.

The question is: What comes off the plate to include it?

So in your opinion while they may riot and kill people over a cartoon, placing Islam in bad light won't cause the same issues as long as it's in a historical context and they stick to the facts?

The state of California teaches about the Catholic religion. For DECADES every child who is in the forth grade learns about Catholic missions. Then they make one. Many students travel to one. I did. Twice. The public school system paid the train fare. And actual Catholics gave the tour. (I've wondered how many Protestant kids took home their souvenir crucifix, bought in the gift shop, home to some very surprised parents.)

Do you have a problem with that? Or is it only Islam that "pushes their views"?

For extra fun: we were taught a Catholic priest named Junipera Serra was a hero. Even though he used Indians as slave labor. Thankfully people have since wised up and the Catholics no longer get to tell school kids converting native peoples was for their "benefit".

How do dates, names, and places put Islam in a bad light?

History doesn't have to be subjective; keeping it objective and unbiased provides no reason to protest.

Color me skeptical, unless we're talking about private contract arbitration, which has a long hostory of being one by whatever authority those entering into the contract agreed on at signing.

Western Civilization is essentially Christian history - or at least that's how it was taught to me through the 90s -2000s when I was in public school. I only learned about the role that Muslims played in Spain in Spanish history (our version of Spanish 4).

Makes perfect sense to teach Islamic history in a country that once ruled MOST of the Islamic nations.
